WHY I WRITE

HELLO WORLD

Welcome to my world, sit back and relax as you go with me on a journey that will enrich all of us. I am still a freshman when it comes to the literature and writing world. In spite of being a virgin when it comes to writing i intend to stir a few ripples here and there as my writing discovery  leads me to unforeseen thresholds, whose main aims are to enrich and provoke thoughts to the self and those accompanying me on this historical ride dipped in ink. When i write my quill bleeds ink that stems from a deep oasis within the chambers of my heart.

To shed light on why i write, i am going to share with you a poem which is also an excerpt from my book Heart Songs - Poetic Verses From The Heart:

WHY I WRITE

Do not ask me why I write, why I became a poet. I do not write because I want to or because someone wants me to. I am what I am, a poet, not because I want to be but because this is what you have made me become.

All I have are my thoughts, my feelings, my beliefs, my memories, my dreams and my emotions. Armed with these there is nothing else I can do except to put them to writing, the only thing I can do for I do not believe in violence and confrontation.

When you read that which I have written, take time to think, to act and to reflect on what lies between the lines. Read not criticize or find talk but so that you may be able to see life the way I see it.

Composed: 22/08/2003 Justice Chikandamina

Besides poetry, i write motivational, spiritual, uplifting words which may take form of quotations, short stories and other things that are golden within the here and now. You see i believe reality is ever evolving so the word must keep on evolving together with the self if it is to remain relevant.
